Years ago before I started a family, I used to read books all the time. I would spend hours wondering the shelves of my local bookstore choosing an eclectic collection of good reads to enjoy over the summer months. As my life has changed over the years, the time for reading my types of books in peace has dwindled to sporadic I-can’t-remember-the-last-part-I-read-so-I-have-to-start-over-again.
To actively and effectively work on my life balance, I have decided to make an effort to dedicated some time and read at least one book a month. I obviously love themes that center around women empowerment and independence, so I found (by recommendation), some great business books themed for the female entrepreneur. Whether you are working or stay at home wife or mom, these books will make you feel that you can take on the world and maybe inspire you to take a leap of faith and start a business of your own.

The 7 Best Books All Women Should Read
I enjoyed this book a lot, but I did feel that it went a little over the top from the perspective of the author. #GIRLBOSS is part memoir and part business book with an edge. It offers insights on entrepreneurship and career advice, #GIRLBOSS is a sassy and irreverent look into how the author organically grew her business from the ground up. This book is loosely related to the new TV series, #GirlBoss

You were created for a purpose, and it’s time to make it happen.
Make It Happen is the story of how the author surrendered her fear, took the leap, and got a life. In her case, a perfectly imperfect, fulfilling life as a mama, a working woman, and a grateful wife. This is the story of how she chose to make “it”―a greater purpose than mine―happen, and how you can too. There are some religious undertones in this story, but not too much to put you off what a great read it is!
Make It Happen is for
- women who find themselves worried, anxious, and completely overwhelmed by the constant chase for perfection
- those seeking the courage to jump into a new venture
- working women who are struggling to “do it all”
- weary wives and moms looking for relief from burning the candle at both ends
- anyone who dreams of a life lived not by accident, but on purpose
