Welcome to Work It Women. I’m Kirianne, the creator behind the blog. So much has happened since I created and launched this blog in last year and it has completely changed my life in so many positive ways. I just can’t wait for you to read it and learn all about my favorite, obsessive topic- building work life balance for working women!
Have you ever felt tired and overwhelmed as a working woman trying to balance work and home life?
I know I have. At Work It Women, we provide practical solutions and advice to help you find that work-life balance. I’ve found that so many women, myself included, struggle with feeling like they are not always being the best that they can be, either as a career professional or wife and mother, which is why our mission is to help working women find work-life balance, so there is more time for things that matter most.
I personally started this journey on finding work life balance a few years ago. I was newly married, a new mom, returned to my profession and quickly felt completely overwhelmed by my responsibilities. My career wasn’t giving me joy because I was so stressed about my baby and being a good wife and friend at home.
My family wasn’t getting the best of me because I was stressed about being a good employee and pursuing my career. It was a vicious cycle that lead to no part of me feeling like I was being successful or at least satisfied with my personal pursuits?
Around this time, I started writing for my blog Work It Women because I simply couldn’t find any information out that that shared ideas or concepts about how, as a working woman, to be the best at your career and the best at home-all in one place.
I spent hours searching the internet finding articles of advice in twenty plus places. So I bookmarked and read those articles over and over, personally practiced the advice from listening to self-help gurus on podcasts and slowly I began to realize that what I was searching for was the term ‘work life balance’. I also realized that I knew exactly how to build it in my own life…so I made it my mission to share these ideas and concepts with other women like myself-but in a one stop shop.
So what exactly is work life balance? Work life balance is considered to be a term used to describe the balance that an individual needs between time allocated for work and other aspects of life. Often times, when you search for ‘life balance’ ideas, you will also find lots of research on the concept on ‘work life balance’ but to me in my personal practice, for a working woman, work life balance is more than just work…it’s found primarily in three areas: career, family and personal relationships. All three of these areas are needed to build a personal work life balance that is effective and successful for you.
Don’t get me wrong, building work life balance is not an easy concept…particularly by trying to figure out where to start…which is exactly why I started Work It Women.
A Work It Women, we have created and organized the best content that supports the three areas that build work life balance for working women: career, family & relationships. Throughout the blog, you will learn ideas, tips and advice to move forward with your own self discovery of what you need to do to build a better work life balance and the best working woman that you can be.
The concept of work life balance is very fluid. It will look different for every person, but by choosing to focus on improving in these three areas of your life will have a significant impact on your happiness, stress level and your perceptions of success.
What our readers love most about Work It Women is that there is no pressure to be perfect, because let’s be honest, no one can do it all, but we can help you find ways to do everything better!
Fast forward to now, blogging is one of the best ideas that I have ever started!
